History
For Titan, it all started with a vision. A vision of innovation and quality. A vision that continues over a century after our founding.
In 1890, John A. Stillwell and several partners founded the Electric Wheel Company in Quincy, IL, the place Titan still calls home. The team started with a capital stock of $25,000 to manufacture steel wheels for farm implements, wagons and other equipment. At the time, electricity as a welding source was cutting edge technology. The name showed the company to be a leader in manufacturing from the very start.
Several years and acquisitions later, that legacy remains. The company, now known as Titan International, Inc., has continued to be a visionary of innovation and quality. What started with $25,000 has grown to a publicly traded, billion dollar company that is a worldwide leader in off-the-road tire and wheel assemblies.
Today, we are a company focused on creating innovative solutions for our customers like our Low Sidewall (LSW®) Technology assemblies and our Accelerated Change Technology (ACT) wheels; the same focus we had in the past when we introduced the Model ‘O’ and Allwork tractors.
It is that deeply rooted vision of innovation and quality that will continue to push us forward as a leader in the manufacturing industry for years to come.
