Titan TGS2 Tires Now More Equipped for Heavier Loads
Higher-rated option a direct result of implementing customer and dealer feedback
QUINCY, Illinois <April 23, 2024> Titan International Inc. (Titan) is excited to announce the release of a 2-star rating on two sizes in its TGS2 line: the 17.5R25 and 14.00R24. The upgraded rating allows for additional load capacity without moving to a larger tire size — making it ideal for applications that rely on optional attachments. With an all-season tread pattern and bold design, the TGS2 is a versatile option for year-round use and offers superior traction on various surfaces, including snow, ice and mud.
In-field feedback prompts design changes
Titan's decision to introduce a 2-star rating on the TGS2 tire was driven by dealer feedback and customer demand. Dealers noticed recurring tire issues caused by overloaded graders and loaders but didn’t have a stronger-rated tire in the same size to offer instead. The feedback was passed along to Titan, prompting the development efforts to move the TGS2 tires to a 2-star rating.

Strong, durable tire for multiple applications
The 2-star TGS2 tires are particularly suitable for use on loaders and graders, such as a Cat 120 motor grader or a John Deere 672G motor grader that are used in a myriad of applications, work sites and ag/construction crossover use. The new 2-star TGS2 sizes are dual-rated tires with features that offer customers a tire that is strong and durable, but also a versatile tire option. These features include:
- Ideal tread depth — The tread depth is shallower than higher-rated tires, which reduces heat buildup, but deep enough to tackle a variety of terrains. This is particularly suitable for municipal loaders that are commonly used for trash and brush cleanup.
- Steel-belted layers — Available in the 17.5R25, the TGS2 features steel-belted layers that enhance cut resistance and reduce the tire’s tread wear, making it ideal for applications requiring optional attachments and increased workloads in harsher environments.
- Multipurpose tire for all-weather use — Since the TGS2 is an all-weather tire, it can effectively tackle multiple jobs for both graders and loaders. This allows for a cost-effective solution for municipalities looking to maximize their budgets with a dependable tire through all four seasons.
Additional sizes of the TGS2 line are expected to be released with a 2-star rating later this year.
