Part-Time Boiler Technician

Job Description

The Boiler Technician performs general and specific duties to operate, inspect and monitor boilers and associated equipment for the generation and distribution of steam for the facility. Will record boiler equipment operational data and identify safety hazards. Hours: Saturday and Sunday 6:00am to 6:00pm and/or 6:00pm to 6:00am

Essential Functions

1. Operate, inspect, and monitor weekend boiler operations.
2. Will maintain associated inspections records as required.
3. Will report issues associated with the boilers to appropriate personnel. 
4. May assist the maintenance departments with general plant maintenance as time allows.
5. Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

1. Two (2) years of related experience with boiler operations is preferred, and/or equivalent combination of experience, education and training that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the essential functions of this position.
3. Capability to operate, maintain, and troubleshoot boilers and auxiliary equipment.
4. Familiarity with high- and low-pressure steam, combustion controls, chemical analysis of water, safety controls, steam traps, pumps, is desired.
6. Ability to read and comprehend written and oral instructions.
7. This position may require lifting up to 75 lbs. on an infrequent basis.
