MAINTENANCE MANAGER

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Maintenance Manager to lead our maintenance team. The ideal candidate will oversee preventive maintenance (PM) projects, develop and implement maintenance strategies, manage schedules, and ensure the seamless operation of our tire manufacturing plant. This role is crucial in maintaining our high standards of production and safety. Know, practice, and be in compliance with all safety rules and procedures. Maintain communication and teamwork to produce a product of the highest quality by the most effective process.

Essential Functions

  1. Oversee Preventive Maintenance (PM) Projects: Lead and manage all preventive maintenance activities to ensure the reliability and efficiency of all equipment and machinery.
  2. Develop and Implement Maintenance Strategies: Create and execute effective maintenance strategies that align with the company’s operational goals and enhance overall production efficiency.
  3. Manage Maintenance Schedules: Develop, maintain, and optimize maintenance schedules to minimize downtime and ensure continuous operation of the plant.
  4. Monitor Monthly Maintenance: Track and analyze monthly maintenance activities, ensuring all tasks are completed on time and within budget.
  5. Team Leadership and Development: Lead, mentor, and develop a skilled maintenance team, fostering a culture of safety, continuous improvement, and accountability.
  6. Budget Management: Manage the maintenance department budget, optimizing resources while ensuring high standards of equipment reliability and plant safety.
  7. Safety Compliance: Ensure all maintenance activities comply with safety regulations and standards, promoting a safe working environment for all employees.
  8. Vendor Management: Oversee relationships with external vendors and contractors to ensure timely and cost-effective service and parts procurement.
  9. Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

◦ Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Industrial Maintenance, or a related field is preferred.

◦ Certifications in maintenance management or reliability engineering are a plus.

◦ Minimum of 5 years of experience in maintenance management, preferably in a manufacturing environment.

◦ Proven track record of successfully leading maintenance teams and projects.

◦ Strong knowledge of preventive maintenance and reliability practices.

◦ Excellent leadership and team management skills.

◦ Proficiency in maintenance management software (EAM or CMMS) and scheduling tools.

◦ Solid understanding of safety regulations and compliance.

◦ Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.

◦ Ability to manage budgets and resources effectively.

◦ Detail-oriented with a strong commitment to quality and safety.

◦ Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

◦ Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.

 

JOB STANARD PHYSICAL BASE PROFILE: Exerting in excess of 70 lbs. Of force occasionally and/or in excess of 50 lbs. frequently and/or in excess of 30 lbs. of force constantly to move objects.

SAFETY REQUIREMENTS:  Must follow safety rules and safe practices to prevent injury to self and others. Must wear all the required safety equipment and/or tools required for this position.

 

GENERAL RULES:

  • • Follow all prescribed instructions.  When in doubt, ASK!

  • • No running on premises. 
  • • Know emergency evacuation routes, exits, and alarms.
  • • Keep floors and work area clean and clear.
  • • Smoking is allowed in designated areas only. 
  • • Use proper lifting and carrying procedures. Use your legs. If the object is too heavy, ask for help.
